Can you pressure wash K-Rend?
You can, and it is the single most common way K-Rend gets wrecked. High pressure lifts the through-coloured top layer and leaves lighter patches that never blend back. Soft washing is the only method we will use on it.
What is soft washing?
A biocide solution applied at garden-hose pressure that kills algae, lichen and moss spores in the surface rather than blasting them off. The growth dies, loses its grip and weathers away over the following weeks.
How long before it looks clean?
Some change is visible within days, but the full result usually takes two to six weeks depending on rainfall and how heavy the growth was. That lag is normal and it is the trade-off for not damaging the render.
How much does render cleaning cost?
Render cleaning is quoted per property based on wall area and access. A typical detached house falls between £400 and £800. Quotes are free and given on site.
Will the algae come back?
Eventually, though the biocide leaves a residual effect that slows it considerably — most properties get three to four years before it is noticeable again. North-facing and tree-shaded walls regrow fastest.
